Joleine Blog

So, our lease is up in a month and we want to move out of apartment hell.  Don’t get me wrong, our apartment is nice and all.. But we’re just done with apartment living.  Not ready to buy a house yet, so we’re looking to rent something with no shared walls, a garage and a yard.. So we’ve been looking since like August.. Really to just get a good idea of what we would like to have in a house, what we require and where we’d like to be.  We have also been researching rental agencies, etc.. So now it’s time to get down to it and find a place.

We’ve looked at 1 place, we went today to look at this place, which has moved itself to the very bottom of the list… The master bedroom is OK sized, kind of long and narrow, but the master bath only has 1 sink and you have to walk through the bathroom to get to the VERY HUGE closet.  The other 3 bedrooms upstairs are just too small… They would’ve made better use of the space by only having 3 bedrooms.  There is a formal living room and then a family room that is connected to the kitchen.. Both rooms are just too small.  There is also no real space for a dining room table.  There is a microwave, but it’s a countertop microwave and not above the stove, thus taking up a lot of room on the counter.  The plus sides to this house?  HUGE Garage and very big back yard, but what is the point in having a big back yard if we can’t have a dog?:

This stunting home is locating in Hillsboro, close to the Quatama max station, Intel campuses, and very friendly neighborhood.

The house features:
4-bedroom and 2.5-bath
Gorgeous Master bedroom and a spacious walk in closet.
Huge backyard with deck
2-car garage
Bamboo hardwood flooring on the main level
Brand new Carpet on upper level
Includes All NEW stainless steel appliances and washer/dryer
County: Washington
Approx Sq Ft: 1828
Bedrooms: 4
Bathrooms: 2.5
Terms: 12 months
Tenant pays water, garbage, sewer, gas, and electric.
No smoking – No Drug – No Pets Allowed

Tomorrow we’re going to look at 2 more (maybe more, I’ve emailed some others...) houses 1 of them I like, and the other… I’m only going to look at the inside to appease Mike, but I’m not a big fan of it(don’t even ask about the conversation that was had about the air conditioning..)..

We’re going to see these 2 tomorrow:
This 1800 sft, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom charming European style home is in a new Don Morissette community in Hillsboro on bus line and walking distance to Max station! Close to Intel!
LARGE GREAT ROOM WITH FIREPLACE
ISLAND KITCHEN WITH EATING BAR, PANTRY and designer tile counters
BRAZILIAN CHERRY CABINETS
HUGE MASTER SUITE WITH SOAKING TUB AND WALK IN CLOSET
SPRINKLER system installed
Washer and dryer included if needed
Walking trail to greenspace and creeks
Great schools (Orenco, Poynter, Liberty)
This is a brand new home, never been lived in! Available January 20th.

And tomorrow we’re also going to see this one:
Newer 2 level home built in 2000 with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and a 2 car garage. 1700 sq. ft.  Located in a quiet neighborhood on a dead-end street. Very close to the streets of Tanasbourne outdoor mall, bus and MAX, and Albertsons. Schools are: Tobias Elementary, R.A. Brown Middle School, and Century High School. Rent includes all appliances; newer refrigerator, gas range and oven, dishwasher, microwave, newer washer/drier, central heating and air conditioning, and garbage service. It has a very spacious master suite that includes a double sink bathroom and a walk-in closet. All of the bedrooms are upstairs along with a full hall bathroom. The kitchen is spacious with tons of cabinet space and includes all appliances, a pantry, tile counters, and a large granite island. There is a half bathroom downstairs that is located away from the family room and kitchen. The downstairs living area has spectacular cathedral style vaulted ceilings. The laundry room is downstairs and includes a newer washer and a newer gas drier. The back yard is kind of small, but low maintenance and is surrounded by a tall stucco privacy wall with gates on both sides. The back patio is pre-plumbed with a natural gas line for a gas barbeque.

Monday we’re going to look at the biggest and most expensive one.. Of course, it’s the one I want the most.. haha.
The details:
2300 Sq Ft, 3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath, Covered Patio, Den, Dishwasher, Family Room with Gas Fireplace, Fenced Back Yard, Forced Air Heating, Garbage Disposal, High Ceilings, Jet Tub, Lots of Storage, Microwave, Non Smokers, 2 Car Oversize Garage with Opener, Pet Considered, Range, Refrigerator, Some Hardwood Floors, Washer/Dryer, Window Coverings

So, that’s about all that’s going on with us.. And I’m sick so that’s no fun.. but I’m excited about moving next month and not being on the 3rd floor anymore smile

I would want that last house myself, LOL. Love the bathroom with its calming blue color and with that bath tub. (Can’t see the other bathtub clearly on the 2nd house). And there’s that wonderful fireplace to get cozy on colder weathers.

Have you moved in there yet? Hehe.

I stumbled upon your blog and I’ve got to say I love the design and color theme. Did you design this yourself?
