As many of you know, my husband Michael recently left Jive Software to venture out in to Designer land and make awesome designery things.
Well, recently Michael was offered a job by an awesome little startup called Carbonmade. They think he’s pretty awesome and he likes them, and what they’re doing with the web, quite a bit too..
So, being the amazing and supportive spouse that I am, I told him to go for it!
That being said.. We’re moving ...
Where to you ask? New York City!
What does that mean for me? Well, after 23 years in the Pacific Northwest and 3 and a half years at Jive, it’s time to hang my hat up and move on.
This decision does not come lightly, as I love it here and love my family and friends that I have here. But, I’m also very excited to move on to new and exciting things and start a new adventurous chapter of our lives!
Morgan is even more excited, see for yourself!
I will miss everyone terribly and welcome all of you to come and visit and stay with us in the Big Apple!
I’ll be in Portland through mid September and hope to see all of my friends before we leave.
Was nice!
I didn’t get to sleep in, as with a puppy and a baby, no one gets to sleep in.. But I did get to snuggle with my baby all day, have a yummy breakfast of a mushroom & cheese omelet, bacon, cinnamon roll & OJ.. Then I got to take a 3 hour nap cuddled up with baby.. Took a bubble bath with a good book.. Spend some time with my mom.. Watch tv.. Have dinner made for me.. oh and some more snuggling with baby.. All in all it was a successful day
Mike was a sweetheart and bought me Tulips (my favorite!), a Garden Gnome, a Buzz Lightyear figure and a nice card
Oh and I got to stare at this all day:
Couldn’t have asked for anything more
Well its taken me a week to get around to Morgan’s birth story.. But here goes!
“Labor” mostly started at my 40 week doctors appointment Thursday February 11th. My OB decided to do another membrane sweep as I hadn’t really “progressed” from the week before (3cm/70% effaced) .. The membrane sweep was.. quite uncomfortable to say the least. Okay, it hurt.. But mostly in my back. But within the few minutes it took to leave the doctors office, I started feeling crampy and yucky in general. It felt like I was coming down with the flu or a cold. Hot yet clammy all over and just nauseous. Mike and I went to work after my appointment and I could just tell something was going to happen and soon so I finished up some things at work, left some instructions for the temp covering me while I was out and we left at 1 to head home. We decided it might be a good idea to stop at the store and get groceries to last us a couple of weeks just in case the baby came soon, we’d want to have food to eat without having to run out for fast food.
While we were at the store, I started having very noticeable and almost painful contractions. Enough so, that I started timing them. A few of them even made me have to stop and catch my breath. Things were getting exciting and we were getting nervous! We got our groceries and got home as soon as we could. But of course, after a bit the contractions tapered off and just came ever so often, but nothing substantial. I did however continue to feel flu-ish.
