Christmas was really quiet this year. I came down with the flu on the Sunday before (kind of was feeling run down on Saturday.) and was super sick for a few days. Monday was the worst, I’ve not felt that crappy in a really long time and I hope to not experience it again anytime soon that’s for sure. So we just stayed home in our pajamas and watched tv between naps. We got impatient and opened our presents on the 24th (like we always end up doing.. need to stop that.) .. But mostly it was because Mike wanted to give me one of my presents to make me feel better. He had gotten me a big fluffy pink robe!
For Christmas dinner, we had chicken noodle soup… how awesome is that? :(
My gifts (So far, not all have gotten here.. I’ll probably update this later):
Vinotemp 12 bottle wine chiller
A big pink fluffy robe (it feels sooooooo soft)
Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii
Ratatouille on dvd
Some yummy flavored hot chocolate mixes and a box of regular chocolate candies.. yum!
“The 90’s Game” (board game)
“The 80’s Game”
“10 stupid things couples do to mess up their relationship” by Dr. Laura
“Bitter is the new black” (book)
Scene IT for the xbox 360
umm.. I think there was other stuff that I’m probably forgetting.. But yeah, good gifts
I need to play mario galaxy this weekend.. I hear it’s a lot of fun
Last night Mike and I went to a Blue October concert. It was pretty much the best concert I’ve ever been to. We had a lot of fun.. Despite having to stand outside for 30 minutes, and then stand inside for the next 3 hours, in one place.. my body hurts from that one...Feeling my age today that’s for sure.. Luckily I have a massage appt in an hour, so I should get taken care of
The opening band was out of Seattle, named The Blakes.. they were good, not sure if I’d buy their album, but it was fun to watch them
They were on for about a half an hour, then Blue Octobers roadies came out and did all of their equipment stuff, sound checks, etc.. We were about 4 feet from the stage, so it was amusing to me to see all of that.. Fun stuff really.. Then the band came out at 9:30 and played a 90 minute set.. it was awesome. I think the best part of it was that it was the lead singer’s birthday, so that was fun.. it was also the last show on their tour, so they really put themselves into it. This show was a lot different than the show we saw in April and that made me happy.. There’s nothing worse than paying for the same concert twice.. They really do put on a great show.. I got a few pictures, but not many… My camera wasn’t being cooperative and my flash (it flashes like 3 times, it’s insane) was pissing off the bouncer chick w/ a spikey mohawk.. Since I valued my life more than photos, felt it best not to take anymore and just stand back and enjoy the show..
We did however have a mini-scuffle with some drunk brawd that came up during the opening act and was just being stupid annoying. Some lady near us yelled at her because the drunk brawd was trying to buy her DAUGHTER a drink.. then she was trying to talk to the 13 year old girls standing next to me (who were surprisingly NOT annoying) and finally left.. She came back a little bit later and tried to nudge her way up in front of us, but 13 yr old girl #1 and I kept pushing her back, and finally I told her very loudly “there is not enough room up here, stoppit” and she got all pouty and stood next to Mike and I and was just annoying… She was the only person all dancing around waving her arms in the air like an epileptic. After she elbowed Mike and I a couple of times he yelled at her to back the eff off… she finally got the hint and left.. man, she was annoying… But other than that, awesome show
Here are some of the pictures I did manage to take..

It’s been a while since I’ve given a proper update, so here goes my best..
Thanksgiving was a blast.. Jenny (my stepsister) and her son Noah flew down from Spokane on the day before and we all hung out that day for a bit, but after I got home Mike was aching to go buy Rock Band, so we ventured out to Best Buy to procure it. Got it home and played for HOURS that night. Thursday morning we got up and got to cooking. We were hosting (only to 4 others) dinner so it was all on me! I put a 20lb turkey in the roaster oven and started on the rest. We had ALL the yummy fixings.. I made macaroni & cheese (the good baked kind, with bacon and everything), green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, cranberry sauce, homemade rolls and my sister brought asparagus. My friend Michelle (from work) came and brought a chocolate tart, and it was yummy! We all sat around and ate food, got fat.. watched Shrek The 3rd and played a lot of Rock Band and Wii.
Friday we all got up and went out to Forest Grove with Jim Goings and his family (Michelle came too) to chop down trees! The Goings’ and Michelle were there to get Christmas trees, the rest of us were there for moral support. It was a lot of fun though. Trees had and our bellies full (we went to Juan Colorados for dinner. yum) we headed back to Jims for MORE Rock Band.. much fun was had..
The rest of the weekend we just spent hanging out and relaxing.. Thus was Thanksgiving
